I’ve always believed that animals have a special way of connecting people. I was walking along the beach, enjoying the Costar Rica area, when a friendly dog ran up to me. Moments later, I met the dog’s owner—who turned out to be a surf instructor. She introduced herself and we instantly clicked. She offered to introduce me to Blu, who I could take pictures with during my stay in San Jose. It was such an unexpected and heartwarming encounter—all thanks to a dog with perfect timing.

When I arrived in the south of the country, I contacted Blu. Without hesitation, she invited me to her new home tucked away in the mountains. She had just moved there, and her warmth and excitement made me feel instantly welcome—as if I were coming home, too. 

I got to know the story of her home and met her two wonderful dogs. Blu also shared memories of her grandmother, with whom she had a very close and loving bond.
