Photoshoot with Lou. Inspiration from art

I met Lou thanks to one of my clients, whom I photographed last spring. She made a huge impression on me from the first moment – she had beautiful, red, natural hair, a light complexion and freckles, which gave her a unique charm.
But it was her smile that stole my heart. Wide, free, natural – full of lightness. We arranged a session at the end of summer. I remember that it was still hot then, and we both knew that the lake would become our ally.

Lou brought a flowing white dress with her, in which we took the first photos – on the sand, in the shade of a beautiful tree. We both knew that the finale of the session would be water. We were aware that sooner or later we would dive into the lake… and the rest? It was supposed to happen by itself. 🙂

These photos weren’t planned – they just happened. That afternoon, the setting sun bathed Lou in a soft, subtle light that perfectly highlighted her face and body. The wild vegetation around the lake created a natural setting, surrounding her with soothing greenery. 🌿✨

It was only when I was editing the photos at home that I noticed the resemblance to John Everett Millais’ Ophelia. Lou’s pale skin emphasized the delicacy and fleetingness of the moment, and the deep green combined with the raw brown added mystery to the photos. It had to happen that way - that we chose to go outside the city, to the lake. Looking at these frames, I have the impression that Lou is suspended between a dream and reality, which gives the scene a mystical, almost painterly character. ✨
